Different window films reduce different amounts of heat. Usually, the darker the shade of window tint, the more heat the film will block. For example, Dual Reflective films can block up to 81% of heat. However, ceramic film technology contain no metals or dyes, which mean they are optically clear. Ceramic films focuses primarily on rejecting infrared heat. Our standard ceramic films can reject infrared rays between 76% and 81%.
Most solar and decorative films are installed on the interior side of the window for both residential and commercial settings. Exterior window film is usually used on specific commercial project, skylights or windows that cannot be access from the inside.
Warranties differ based on the type of film that is being installed. For solar films, most residential interior installations have a lifetime limited warranty. Most commercial interior installations have a 10-15 year limited warranty. Decorative Window Films come with a 5 year warranty
Window films that don’t contain dyes won’t turn purple. New technology have eliminated the need to have dyed films and has allowed most window films to be made with metals and nano-ceramic instead of dyes. At TintXperts, we work with high quality films that will not turn purple, fade, peel, crack, or have any type or discoloration or hazy appearance.
It is very common for the newly installed film to show evidence of water bubbles, as it is part of the drying process. This is simply residual moisture trapped under the film that evaporates as the film cures to the window. Depending on the film, it can from 30 up to 60 days for all the moisture to evaporate.
Installation starts by prepping and thoroughly cleaning each window. Our installers use drop cloths to protect your floors, walls and furniture from the soap and water solution we use during the installation process. After that we custom cut the film to the size of the window. We squeegee all of the water out and allow between 30-60 days for the film to fully dry. We clean up all trash we generate from the installation and leave your space looking exactly how we found it.
There are many window film options that will provide daytime privacy while allowing clear and unobstructed visibilty from the inside out. At night, when its dark outside and the lights inside are on, the effect reverses and privacy goes away.
Decorative window film provides both day and nighttime privacy by blocking the visibilty from both INSIDE and OUTSIDE. This is a great option for bathroom windows and entry door side panels. Even though visibility is blocked in order to create privacy, light transmission is usually over 80%, providing hight amounts of natural light.
No, window film does not have to be dark in order to be effective. There are many clear and undetectable window film options that will allow more natural light while still rejecting unwanted heat. Nano-Ceramic Films and Optically Selective Films fall under this category.

Residential window tintig is priced by overall square footage. We measure the glass opening. Most solar window tinting starts at $8 dollar per square feet. Other types of films like Nano-Ceramic or Spectrally Selective films start at $10 dollars and up. Our price includes installation, materials, warranty, etc. Other factors may increase the overall cost, such as having to remove existing film, high reaching window panels or french pane metal bars.
Commercial window tinting is usually priced based on each individual project.
